Woman Assaulted by Recruiting Officer
A woman interested in joining the Navy is unlikely to go through with that decision after being sexually assaulted by her recruiting officer.
The suspect, a 40-year-old male, was taken into custody this week after the young woman filed the sexual assault case against him. According to the police report, the woman visited a recruiting office to take a written exam. When she was finished, the officer offered to bring her back home in his car. Instead, he brought her to an area near her home where he proceeded to use a foreign object to penetrate her against her will.
At this time, the officer is being held at police station in lieu of $100,000 bail and he has been charged with one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object. Police say he could spend as many as eight years behind bars if he is found guilty of the sexual assault charge filed against him.
