Police Bust Cocaine Operation
Cincinnati police recently found and seized 12 kilograms of cocaine. The cocaine apparently made its way to Ohio via a West Coast gang of Hispanic dissent. The illegal narcotic was intended to be sold in Cincinnati and the surrounding communities. Police were able to seize the cocaine after a year-long investigation by several local police departments as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The joint effort by multiple departments helped keep this vast quantity of cocaine off of Ohio streets.
Authorities arrested five men in connection with the cocaine bust. The drug crimes that these men were charged with carry heavy sentences and include conspiracy to traffic in drugs. Authorities found the cocaine in a number of vehicles and storage units in the area. Police also confiscated $28,000 in cash. All in all Ohio police and investigators estimate that the value of the cocaine is about $500,000 wholesale or $1.2 million on the street.
