Missing Mother was Murdered
Police officers have confirmed that a local mother who was missing for a number of days has been found murdered and that they are launching a formal investigation into the death. Police have not yet released any information regarding potential suspects, how exactly the woman died, or what motivations they suspect.
The woman, a 29-year-old mother, was last seen getting into a vehicle in a local city around 3:00 AM Sunday morning. Her body was discovered in the afternoon on the following Wednesday by a road worker. In the days in between her family had searched frantically for her and handed out missing person fliers as well as going on television, asking anyone who may have seen the woman to speak up.
The homicide appears to have occurred outside of city limits and therefore might be handled by the County Sheriff's office rather than local police. This murder brings the city's total number of murders to the highest level since 1997.
