Police Respond Immediately to Kidnapping Report
When a young girl reported that an elderly man attempted to kidnap her, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department went on full alert.
After speaking with the 12-year-old girl, police were able to get a description of the suspect. They learned that Keith Holmes, 81, drove next to the girl as she was walking along Pearblossom Highway, and attempted to get her into his vehicle. The young girl kept refusing him until her mother noticed what was happened, and stepped in to stop the abduction.
When the mother questioned Holmes about his intentions, he drove away. The mother was able to get a description of the vehicle, as well as a license plate, when the car stopped at a traffic light. Based on this information, officers with the Palmdale Sheriff's Station were able to track Holmes down and arrest him for the attempted kidnapping.
