DWI Driver Leads Police on Chase in L.A.
Two women out for a night of fun caused a serious chain of collisions that kept Los Angeles police officers busy for several hours.
Reports indicate that an officer was flagged down about a car that was wreaking havoc by sideswiping several cars. When officers finally caught up with the vehicle, they signaled for the driver to pull over. Instead, she took off, leading police on a high-speed chase that included the car hitting a fire hydrant, causing a 20-foot geyser that had to be shut down. The chase allegedly concluded after both the driver and officers raced down several blocks in downtown Los Angeles.
Once police caught up with the driver, they saw signs that she might be impaired and placed her under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
