Officers Crack Down on DUI
Officers with the Los Angeles County Police Department were busy cracking down on DUIs this weekend, netting them five arrests total.
The checkpoint, which was held at Imperial Highway and Valley View Avenue, brought in an additional 24 citations and 17 vehicles that had to be towed away. Twenty one tickets were given out for vehicle citations and three drivers were arrested on marijuana charges, while two more had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
Overall officers stopped 1,820 vehicles at the checkpoint in their effort to crack down on drunk driving and other violations. Checkpoints like these are funded by grants through the California Office of Traffic Safety.
