On Friday, May 7, Judge Jeff Almquist ruled that prosecutors have satisfactory evidence to proceed with the trial of Stewart Skuba, Adam Hunt, and Kenneth Clamp in the alleged kidnapping, robbing, and murder of Elias Sorokin, 29. The three men deny the charges.
Skuba of Santa Cruz, 32, Hunt of Watsonville, 29, and Clamp of San Lorenzo Valley, 39, are accused of robbing and murdering Los Angeles man, Sorokin, when he stopped in Santa Cruz on July 20. Sorokin disappeared on the night of July 20 and his body has not been found. His car, however, a Toyota truck, was found burned near Bonny Doon.
The evidence stacked against the three men includes blood stains in a garage and the testimonies of a 19-year-old woman who dated Skuba, the woman's 17-year-old brother, and their father.
All three men are currently being held in county jail on $1 million bail.
