Three Teenagers Arrested for Hate Crimes
In Washington, hate crime charges have been filed against three juveniles who allegedly painted anti-Semitic graffiti on the walls of a Jewish high school. Police say the teenagers also stand accused of painting racist graffiti and swastikas on church and Catholic high school in Seattle.
Two of the teenagers, age 17, were arrested on October 6th. They were then placed in juvenile detention. The third teenager, 19-year-old Jared Reed Kadish, turned himself into police on October 8th. He had been attending college in Los Angeles.
At this time, Kadish remains in jail and is set to be arraigned on October 27th in the city of Seattle. The other teens were charged in King County Juvenile Court for malicious harassment, which is the state's hate crimes statute.
