San Gabriel Mayor Charged with Purse Snatching
In San Gabriel, it has been reported that one of the most prominent residents was placed under arrest on Friday after he snatched a woman's purse. He then took her for a long ride as she held onto the side of his SUV.
Surprisingly, the prominent purse snatcher was the city's mayor.
Police say that following the theft, Mayor Albert Y.M. Huang was booked into jail for investigation of felony assault, misdemeanor battery and felony robbery.
Supposedly, the 35-year-old mayor was in a parking lot arguing with the woman about money. During the argument, he snatched her purse and got into his car. The woman held onto his vehicle as the Mayor sped away reaching speeds of 45 mph for about a quarter of a mile.
At this time, the woman's name and relationship to the Mayor have not been documented.
